THE FIRST CONVERSATION
You do not need to have everything figured out before we talk.
The complimentary call is simply a conversation. I will learn what you are trying to accomplish, ask a few questions about your family and property, answer your initial questions, and explain what the next steps would look like.
If I believe I can help, I will explain what I recommend and what it would cost before you decide whether to move forward.

THE PROCESS
A clear path from the first call to a finished estate plan
Talk
We start with a conversation about your family, property, goals, and questions.
Questionnaire
You give me the information needed to prepare the plan. It does not have to be perfect before we talk.
Attorney Drafting
I personally prepare the estate-planning documents for your situation.
Review Together
We go through the drafts together so you understand the plan before anything is signed.
Signing
I provide clear signing instructions and coordinate the final signing process.
Funding Guidance
I give you detailed guidance on connecting appropriate assets to the trust and remain available for questions.
WHAT THE PLAN CAN INCLUDE
More than just a living trust
A complete estate plan uses several documents that work together. The exact package depends on your situation.
Revocable Living Trust
Your central estate-planning document for managing and distributing trust assets.
Pour-Over Will
Provides a backup plan for assets that may remain outside the trust at death.
Durable Power of Attorney
Names someone to handle financial matters if you cannot.
Advance Health Care Directive
Names your health-care decision-maker and records your health-care wishes.
HIPAA Authorization
Allows the people you choose to obtain protected medical information when appropriate.
Certification of Trust
A shorter document commonly used to confirm the trust's existence and Trustee authority.
General Assignment
Helps document the assignment of appropriate personal property to the trust.
Funding Guidance
Clear instructions for the next steps after signing so the plan is not simply a binder on a shelf.
WHY PEOPLE GET THIS HANDLED
The goal is to make things clearer and easier for the people you care about.
- Help avoid probate for assets properly held in the trust.
- Name the people you want handling financial and health-care decisions.
- Create a plan for incapacity, not only for what happens at death.
- Give family clearer instructions and reduce uncertainty.
- Put the plan in place while you can make the decisions yourself.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Questions people often have before getting started
Do I need to know exactly what I need before we talk?
No. That is one of the reasons for the consultation. I can learn about your situation, answer your questions, and explain what I would recommend.
Is the consultation a commitment to hire you?
No. The initial conversation is a chance to understand your situation, discuss the process, and decide whether working together makes sense.
Can we do this virtually?
Yes. My practice is primarily virtual, which makes consultations and document review convenient for clients throughout California.
What if I do not have every account or detail ready?
That is fine. You do not need every piece of information gathered before the first conversation. We can identify what is actually needed as the process moves forward.
What happens with my house?
Real property is an important part of trust planning. I can explain how title and trust funding fit into the plan and what steps are appropriate for your property.
Will I know the fee before moving forward?
Yes. After learning what you need, I can explain the scope of the work and the applicable fee before you decide whether to move forward.
WHEN YOU ARE READY
Have questions? That is what the call is for.
You do not need to know exactly what you need before we talk. I can help you sort through the options and explain the process in plain English.
